Hupp and another close aide, Sarah Greenwalt, resigned on Wednesday, the EPA said. "Look, My wife is an entrepreneur herself, I love, she loves, we love Chick-fil-A as a franchise of faith and it's one of the best in the country and that's something we were very excited about and we need more of them in Tulsa and we need more of them across the country". Ethics rules prohibit officials from using their office for private gain.

The Democrats say Pruitt might have committed crimes.

Pruitt's chief of staff, Ryan Jackson, and former top policy adviser Samantha Dravis are due to appear before the oversight committee's investigators later this month.

"I just know there's a lot of talk of conflicts and we'll see how much the market can bear", he said.
