World Cup friendly plus Neymar updates

Neymar marked his return from injury with the first goal in Brazil's win over Croatia at Anfield.

Second-half goals from Neymar and Roberto Firmino guided Brazil to a 2-0 win over Croatia in a friendly worldwide at Anfield on Sunday.

Sidelined since February after undergoing foot surgery, the Paris Saint-Germain crack (the word often used in Spanish for unbelievable players) will get some precious minutes under his belt as he gears up for the tournament in Russian Federation.

Indeed, Croatia had arguably the better of the chances before Neymar produced his moment of magic, collecting Coutinho's pass and dancing into space before finishing from close range in his first appearance since surgery on a broken foot.

"Neymar? He'll start on the bench because he's still recovering, and will come on half-time because we're preparing as a team", Tite told reporters in Saturday's press conference.

Philippe Coutinho is back at Anfield and starts for Brazil.

Alberto moves up the Gulf of Mexico
Some severe storms may be possible Tuesday, with Alberto's remnants making the closest approach from the west at that time. TROPICAL STORM WARNING is still in effect for coastal areas in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties until further notice.

"Neymar is going to have ups and downs like he had in training until the third, fourth game (on his return)".

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino then bagged a goal on his own home turf in injury time, to seal the victory.

Brazil, who became the first team to qualify for the World Cup in March, face Austria next Sunday before starting their Group E campaign against Switzerland on 17 June.

Brazil captain and No. 9 Gabriel Jesus was not as impressive in the first half of the match, and was replaced by Firmino after an hour.

Tite's announcement came as no surprise, as Neymar has been training with his Brazilian team-mates in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

When Fernandinho went off, Coutinho played a greater role and Brazil's game improved.
