Will Power wins 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500

Danica Patrick's final Indianapolis 500 ended like her final Daytona 500.

The 36-year-old driver will it quits after Sunday's 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500.

"I didn't really want (to be here)", Patrick said. "I had all my people around me, so I was in good spirits". She had six top-10 finishes in her previous seven Indianapolis starts but ran outside the top 10 for most of Sunday's race after starting seventh. It just didn't come on race day.

"I guess I'll stop there". Patrick became the first woman to clinch a pole position and holds the most starts, laps led and top-tens for a woman in the Cup Series in NASCAR.

"It was definitely not the way that I wanted it to end", she said softly.

"That guy was sitting here this morning before I walked in, sitting in his firesuit next to his engineer ready to go, about 6:30 this morning", Cindric said. He is the only active driver with three Indy 500 wins and has been eager to get a fourth. "I was wondering if I would ever win it".

Fans looking for a livestream of the Indianapolis 500 will be able to find all of the Memorial Day racing action from the convenience of their computer or mobile device.

President Trump: 'SPYGATE' Could Be One of the Biggest Scandals in History
Comey said he did not disclose the investigation involving Trump because it was at an early, sensitive stage. The meeting scheduled for Thursday was encouraged by Trump and brokered by the White House.

"But probably anything in between might just be a little part of a big story, so I kind of feel like that's how it is, you know".

"Definitely not a great ending", said Patrick.

Power is considered by many to be the best IndyCar driver now competing.

She was running in the middle of the field on Lap 68 when she spun sideways, hit the outside wall and then caromed across the track and into an inside barrier. ("Please Roger, can I come back", he pleaded with team owner Penske in his television interview.) Fellow Brazilian Tony Kanaan, another former victor who had the lead early in the afternoon, later lost control in turn two and also exited the race.

Defending champion Takuma Sato also crashed out after running into the back of James Davison's vehicle. She had her best finish of third in the race in 2009. "We'll certainly take a good luck at that for sure", Penske said.

Power hits the finish line for victory. Kanaan's crash with 12 laps remaining set up a final restart with Oriol Servia out front.

Helio Castroneves made a public plea to return to the Indianapolis 500 next year, and it appears team owner Roger Penske will oblige.
