In its report on the game announcement, The Verge quotes an Activision source that indicated Call of Duty Black Ops 4 would be a side step in the series, and future outings would "return to the bombastic cinematic single-player modes players are used to". It certainly sounds compelling, but we're also sure to see a lot more battle royale-like modes and games before the year's up.
When the game launches, there will be three modes to choose from with four new characters and some brand new enemies.
Zombies has become a staple mode in the Call of Duty franchise but things are being given a freshen up. Along with a gritty, grounded and all-out combat experience, Black Ops 4 multiplayer will focus on tactical and player choice. Based on the information revealed thus far, that means that players will be able to enter the game's Battle Royale mode and use character skins from existing games in the series, weapons from previous Black Ops titles (including those featured in old zombie modes), and other items that touch upon the franchise's rich history. It's a first for the franchise but it's probably not a bad move given online multiplayer has always been the main draw of the Call of Duty franchise.
LDS Church to cut ties with Boy Scouts of America
In the last five years, the Boy Scouts began admitting gay and transgender Scouts , and ended its ban on openly gay adult leaders. The church has been the BSA's largest faith-based chartering organization and LDS boys have comprised about 1 in 6 Scouts.
In Black Ops 4, we're incorporating narrative gameplay experiences directly into MP and giving players the ability to learn and master each of the Specialists through solo missions that give hands-on intros to each Specialist, while exploring the stories behind their identities.
There are some small but significant changes being made to multiplayer this time around.
What's interesting about the new Black Ops 4 is that it looks similar to Overwatch and we're not talking about design. With Black Ops 4, we've designed an experience for all play styles and skill levels from casual to competitive. In the gear system, players will be able to choose from a range of items which will include body armor for increased protection from shots and packs for faster health regeneration. The game is expected to be out on 12 October 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
