Cahill's grit and character could benefit Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte admits it has not been easy replacing former captain John Terry's leadership skills within the club, but still feels new skipper Gary Cahill has the right experience to have a great World Cup with England.

But Blues boss Conte believes Cahill deserves the chance to re-establish himself.

Conte is widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season, despite having an extra year remaining on his contract at the club. "We will see. Now he is having training sessions and he is improving a lot", Conte said on the eve of Chelsea's clash with Swansea City.

Neuvirth was dressed as the backup for Game 4 coming off a lower body injury that prevented him from dressing since March 28th. Meanwhile, the Flyers' stars - Claude Giroux , Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds - were once again silenced on the score sheet.

Luiz held a big birthday bash in London earlier this week to celebrate turning 31, which was attended by several of the Chelsea players.

"To play in the World Cup on European Championships, it's important to have players with great experience because the pressure will be strong for everyone". "To play and then to have the chance to go and play in the World Cup. I think he's a really good, important manager".

But he has returned to Conte's first XI for the past four matches and put in assured performances at the heart of the back three, a switch from the position on the left of the centre-backs that he filled during last season's Premier League title triumph. I'm sure that the coach will take the best decision for the national team. He may be in the twilight of his career at the Bridge and indeed on the global stage, but his experience and the motivation for one last hurrah for club and country could make him a serious asset to Conte as he bids to salvage something memorable from Chelsea's otherwise disappointing season.
