Russia: Trump promised to make reciprocal visit to Moscow

USA military strikes on Syria last week removed any moral obligation Russia had to withhold S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems from its ally Bashar Assad, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday, according to RIA state news agency.

Uzumcu said the organization's team will not visit Douma until the United Nations security experts deem it safe and only if the chemical-weapons inspectors "can have unhindered access to the sites".

Because of this, OPCW set up fact-finding missions to go to Syria and figure out if the reports of chemical weapons use were true.

The attack came one year after U.S. forces took out a Syrian government military airfield, which it said supported chemical attacks.

People present in Douma said that Syrian and Russian military officials have blocked off and repeatedly entered the sites and medical facilities that the global Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is expected to comb for evidence. Likewise, this comes at a time when President Trump is considering a United States Military response to Syria.

The Pentagon said that all 105 missiles fired at three Syrian chemical facilities reached their targets, while the Russian military said Syrian air defences downed 71 out of 103 US missiles.

She added, "Administration and congressional officials said the hawkish Mr. Bolton is not expected to defer to the defense secretary; already, neoconservative members of the Republican foreign policy establishment have started to air concerns that Mr. Mattis is ceding strategic territory to Iran and Russian Federation in Syria".

A United Nations team touring the sites of the attack on Tuesday was shot at and subjected to a blast, but returned safely to Damascus, Mr Dujarric said.

A Russian army commander has also said that Moscow would consider supplying S-300 missile systems to Assad following USA -led strikes.

Oil eases but set for highest weekly gain since July
The IEA said stocks in developed countries could fall below Opec's key five-year average target in May or June. OPEC itself estimates OECD oil stocks now stand at 43 million barrels above the five-year average.

Their destination was Jarablus, a town under shared Turkish and Syrian opposition control near the Syria-Turkey border.

Speaking to reporters at the Pentagon on Wednesday, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said the evidence was at risk of being tampered with as the delays dragged on.

We have seen no indication the #Assad regime is prepared to launch another chemical weapons attack.

Syrian state media says government forces have started bombing an Islamic State-held zone in Damascus.

Iraq says it has launched airstrikes in neighboring Syria against Islamic State militants.

Moscow only commits its forces to areas that really threaten its security (or at least appeal to its own sometimes paranoid definition of what constitutes a security threat).

In New York, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on April 19 that discussions were taking place in Syria's capital with all key parties on security arrangements for the OPCW inspectors to visit Douma.

Fighters from the Army of Islam and their families were to leave the town of Dumayr as part of the arrangement, the state-affiliated al-Ikhbariya TV station said.
