A handful of the 2018 Rock Hall inductees and the celebrities who inducted them headed backstage to the press room during tonight's Induction Ceremony.
The most unexpected source of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drama this year came from various Dire Straits members, with half of the chaps ultimately choosing to avoid the ceremony for inexplicable reasons.
Overlooked but never unappreciated, Sister Rosetta Tharpe is finally a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer.
Lead singer and guitarist Mark Knopfler skipped Saturday's ceremony and his absence was a major disappointment to fans of the band, which was influenced by blues, country, Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan.
They performed together, too, singing crowd favorites like "Livin' on a Prayer", "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "It's My Life". Each member of the band then said a few words of thanks before handing the microphone over to singer Jon Bon Jovi who recounted the band's history in great detail and acknowledged the influence of Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny. Jon Bon Jovi gave a 20-minute-long speech onstage, which he said he had been writing for years.
The Killers earned a loud applause from the audience when they started performing "American Girl", then transitioned to "Free Fallin'".
It's "Bon Jovi Day" in New Jersey.
Teachers respond to Governor Ducey's salary raise proposal
It was a surprising shift in tone from the governor, who has repeatedly rejected teachers' demands for a raise and school funding. On Wednesday, Arizona teachers staged a statewide " walk-in ", demanding an increase in pay and more funding for schools overall.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Nina Simone were inducted posthumously.
Overall, while this year's Induction Ceremony didn't have the star power of previous evenings held in Cleveland, the high-profile event had its moments.
Jon Bon Jovi will be inducted alongside current bandmates David Bryan and Tico Torres, as well as former members Richie Sambora and Alec John Such.
Tharpe will be inducted by Brittany Howard, of Alabama Shakes. Mary J. Blige will induct Simone, who died in 2003.
In its citation, the Hall of Fame credited the London band with its revival of Americana, saying, "Dire Straits dragged rock kicking and screaming back to its gritty, country roots using beefy guitar licks and bluesy vocals".
