Severe weather possible Tuesday after morning storms

But a cold front is expected to move across eastern Missouri and IL on Tuesday afternoon, bringing a risk for thunderstorms that could be severe in southeast Missouri and southern IL. Flooding and strong, straight line winds are my main concern.

Tuesday will be a warm and breezy day across Acadiana as highs will climb into the lower 80s again under a mix of sun and clouds with winds picking up out of the south at 10-20 miles per hour and gusts up to 25-30 miles per hour. "Winds will be out of the south at 15-20 miles per hour".

The severe storm risk will increase Tuesday night as the cold front pushes toward the region. If that weakening occurs we may still see some rain, but the storms would arrive with the front later this evening.

You'll need to crank up your air-conditioning as temperatures will be into the low 80s in most spots across the Tennessee Valley! Look for a high temperature on Sunday in the low to mid 70s.

The National Weather Service in Paducah is calling for severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon with a possibility for tornados and hail.

Unfortunately, set rain chances at 40 percent for the latter half of Friday with rain likely (at 70 to 80 percent) for Saturday. Severe weather is unlikely at this point with minimal instability with this frontal passage, but heavy rain is possible.
