Giants sign Solder, bolster offensive line

The news comes a day after the Giants missed out on former Carolina Panthers guard Andrew Norwell, who was widely expected to join general manager Dave Gettleman at MetLife Stadium before signing a five-year, $65.5 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Browns got heavily involved in the offensive-line market last offseason and might be doing so again, as they are reportedly in talks with former Patriots offensive lineman Nate Solder, according to a report from Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. The Hall of Fame-bound quarterback should feel more comfortable with Solder holding down the left side in 2018 and beyond.

Deals can not be officially signed until Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET.

The New York Giants made a pretty big mistake in the 2015 NFL Draft when they took left tackle Ereck Flowers.

What this means for Flowers is he is headed to a new position, and not necessarily right tackle.

Croston played left and right tackle at Iowa but only was on the field for eight offensive snaps during the 2017 season after coming to the team as an undrafted free agent.

Arsenal fans praise enforcer's performance on Twitter following victory: "Superb", "Phenomenal"
However, Watford were awarded a penalty two minutes later when Pereyra was brought down. I remember very well every time he refused the biggest clubs to stay at Arsenal .

It's believed Solder will command a deal that could be worth as much as $14 million annually.

Martin, 26, is coming off the best season of his career in the previous year of his rookie contract. It marked the first time he received a Pro Bowl invitation, although he didn't play in the game because the Patriots were in Super Bowl LII. He was the hero of New England's Super Bowl win after the 2014 season, intercepting a pass to seal the 28-24 victory over Seattle.

As for other parts of the offense, Danny Amendola, Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead also represent the Patriots free agents.

The 17th player taken in the 2011 draft, Solder has started 95 career games, and he has been relatively injury free in his career.

The deal with Solder coincided with agreement between Big Blue and linebacker Kareem Martin, who played last season with the Arizona Cardinals.

A person familiar with the negotiations says the New York Giants have an agreement with offensive tackle Nate Solder.
