McDonald's is distributing 20 million sauce packs across the country in an effort to prevent shortages.
On Wednesday, McDonald's officially confirmed the return of its much ballyhooed condiment, which will be available starting on February 26 at all US restaurants - but only for patrons who make a "qualifying purchase".
McDonald's is bringing back a product that led to riots after it was featured on the popular television show "Rick and Morty". "That's my one-armed-man, Morty!" a raging Rick tells his frightened grandson. McDonald's released four jugs of Szechuan sauce over the summer, and some "Rick and Morty" fans bid thousands of dollars to get their hands on them.
However, McDonald's is having another crack at bringing Szechuan Sauce back.
"We disappointed fans and we are sorry".
McDonald's announced the return of the sauce for one day, October 7.

Puel said he will field a strong lineup when they host Sheffield United, who are now eighth in the Championship (second-tier) standings.
But that's not all: According to the tweet, the company also launched an entire companion podcast called "The Sauce" to answer its fans' "burning" questions regarding the condiment, and to discuss all-things Szechuan Sauce. Szechuan Sauce, that is, a long-forgotten Chicken McNuggets dipping sauce thought lost to the sands of time. It's still a limited-time promotion, and only available with the purchase of Buttermilk Crispy Tenders while stocks last.
Not like October 7, when thousands of fans went home hungry.
"On 2/22, we announce where/when Szechuan Sauce will return", the post said.
Police were called to break-up protests outside some locations after receiving reports of customers jumping onto counters and screaming for Szechuan.
All of this to announce it will release the sauce to the masses starting Monday.
