Donald Trump Jr 'likes' post attacking Florida school shooting survivor

"I've covered their aftermaths myself and you can not fake the smell of blood nor the way phones ring and ring and ring as people desperately try to talk to their loved ones, one last time". The 17-year-old is one of an outspoken group of students calling for better gun control measures after witnessing the massacre of 17 students and staff.

While these claims have no basis, they spread quickly in conservative circles on social media and among popular right-wing commentators.

We've learned Hogg did attend a Southern Cali school years ago, but moved to Florida with his family sometime before the 2015 school year. "He is a student who lost 17 of his classmates to bullets".

As David Hogg has become the face of the teenagers' crusade to change gun laws, he has also become the target of conspiracy theorists looking to discredit him.

Calls by student David Hogg for stricter gun laws in the days after last week's massacre have made him the subject of smear campaigns and demonstrably false conspiracy theories.

CBS Los Angeles has confirmed that Hogg is an MSD High School student. President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump, Jr., "liked" a pair of tweets making such claims about Hogg, The New York Times reported.

Friends of Hogg have rushed to social media to blast the unfounded claims, and now, a clip of Hogg in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School yearbook has gone viral, as proof that he is who he says he is.

The video sharing website did not respond to questions over why it took so long to disable the footage or if it will disable other videos which are similar in tone.

A post on Facebook featuring a photo of Hogg and claiming that the Parkland students were actors also was shared more than 100,000 times before Facebook later deleted it for violating its policies. On Wednesday, YouTube had replaced one link to a video about Hogg as an actor with a notice saying it violated the site's policy on harassment and bullying, but other videos remained.

"I just think it's a testament to the sick immaturity and broken state of our government when these people feel the need to pedal conspiracy theories about people that were in a school shooting where 17 people died and it just makes me sick", he said.

One student was teased about being a "brown, bald lesbian".

"It's immature rude and inhuman for these people to destroy the people trying to prevent the death of the future of America because they won't", David told BuzzFeed news. "I have to keep going". "But grief organized for the cameras - politically orchestrated grief - strikes me as phony & inauthentic".

He also said he doesn't understand the hate he's suddenly facing.

Mourners brought flowers, candles and stuffed animals to a makeshift memorial created by community members outside of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week. They hark back to "a high-level narrative, which is the media is lying. and you can't trust anything you see".
