Flood Watches, Warnings continue across area

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for Small Streams for St. Joseph County as well as for Cass and Berrien Counties in MI and LaGrange County in Indiana until 3:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Today's forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches or rain, along with melting snow, moderate flooding on some roadways and low-lying areas is expected, according to the weather service. In total, Magnolia and some of its surroundings could see as much as 6.28 inches of rainfall over the next week, according to NWS models. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected Monday through Tuesday.
"We can still expect another 2" of rain in many locations through Wednesday morning.
The river is expected to crest around 17.2 feet.
Rain and storms continue throughout the evening hours of Wednesday but will start to clear out in the northern ArkLaTex by 8 p.m. "It's looking like we'll be seeing record temperatures in the low to mid 60s".
If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, you should be taking protective action now to keep you and your family safe.
"Significant rises are expected on waterways, including the Black River, and its tributaries, along with the potential for general lowland flooding", forecasters said. This covers flooding of basements and flooding in low lying areas.
High-standing water is being reported in many areas.
While there has been some precipitation this winter, most of the rain has been so light that it has not brought much relief.
