Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Patrick Chan, Kaetlyn Osmond and Gabrielle Daleman - you may know them as Team Canada's best figure skaters - took home a gold medal in the team figure skating event Sunday night.
After the women's free skating, Canada had already secured first place, with ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir still left to compete.
Altogether, the Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation took the silver medal with a final score of 66, and team U.S. took the bronze with 62.
The two skaters now have four Olympic medals each over the course of their careers. The routine included an "edgy" move that resulted in Virtue having her legs over Moir's shoulders in a sexual position.
The three-time Winter Olympic medalists chose to adjust their routine, which had dominated the 2018 Canadian Skating Nationals in January.
Adam Rippon of the USA had an absolutely brilliant run in the men's free skate, putting up a score of 172.98, with a almost flawless routine.
The figure skating team event at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang wrapped up today with a gold for Canada.
Canada had just settled for silver in the inaugural team event at those 2014 Games, and it didn't sit well with a team that boasts some of the world's greatest skaters.
While it was his quads that helped carry Canada to gold in the team event, he fell on one of his triple Axels and popped the other.
Police warn against sharing explicit video
Law Enforcement across the country is asking the public to not share an obscene video portraying a criminal act on the internet. Sharing the video will not give justice to the victim; instead, it will continue to victimize the child.
The United States team of Maia and Alex Shibutani posted a score of 112.01 while the Italian team of Anna Cappelini and Luca Lanotte scored 107.00 for their performance. "Not only are we strong as individuals and as a team, but also as a country, and I really am glad with what we've done, and we stepped up and made Canada proud this week".
"The medal is what you make of it", Chan said, when asked whether a team gold medal would in some way be lesser than an individual gold.
At Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung, one of two hosting cities of the PyeongChang Games, the Canadians won the figure skating team event, finishing with a combined score of 73.
"Obviously there's not a great attitude to us, but even though they're tracking us very carefully, we are fulfilling all the International Olympic Committee demands", Zagitova said.
"I've probably annoyed the hell out of him in the last couple of days", Moir said later.
"I think it does say that it's a tough panel", observed Moir of the marks that were lower for everybody across the board.
Canada's gold medal was set up by three-time world champion Patrick Chan earlier in the day. "I survived, and I get to enjoy a gold medal", he said.
"We wanted to win the team event in 2018 and we believed in ourselves and we talked about it as a team", Moir said.
"Yes, I'm questioning that too", she said of the dropping levels.
