US Curling Team Beats Russian Athletes To Kick Off Pyeongchang Olympics

Olympic curling action is heating up and Friday will give casual fans a look into some important action between the eight countries represented by mixed doubles teams.

United States of America (2-4) vs. Finland (0-6)Norway (4-2) vs. Only the top four teams qualify for the semifinals.

Switzerland and Olympic Athletes from Russian Federation finished second and third respectively and will meet in the other semifinal.

The Canadian curlers bounced back nicely from a loss in their first game in the mixed doubles competition with three straight wins, including a 10-4 dismantling of China (Rui Wang and Dexin Ba) Friday morning and an 8-2 drubbing of Finland (Oona Kauste and Tomi Rantamaeki) in the afternoon.
