Zainab's murderer caught: CM Punjab vouches for public hanging

Pakistan's GeoTV quoted Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday as having confirmed that the arrested accused, Imran, is the murderer of seven-year-old Zainab and referred to him as a "serial killer".
The Punjab chief minister also called Imran a "serial killer". The accused was arrested when his DNA matched with the sample found from the victim's body, Geo News reported, citing the sources.
There has been no immediate comment either from the accused or his lawyers.
A man suspected in the rape and killing of a 7-year-old Pakistani girl has been arrested in a breakthrough in a case that has sparked outrage across the country.
The incident led to angry protests in various parts of Kasur that resulted in at least two deaths and several injuries.
The request follows the killing of Zainab Ansari, a six-year-old girl whose body was found in a rubbish dump after she was kidnapped in Kasur, East Pakistan, on her way to class.
He had fled to Pakpattan after Zainab's murder case was reported nationally and to Arifwala from there before returning to hometown days later.
According to details, DNA samples of Imran Ali were sent to Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) in Lahore along with 1,050 other samples that were taken over the course of the investigations.

Sharif, addressing the media, identified Imran Ali, 24, of Kasur, as the killer of Zainab.
He said Zainab's father, public and even he himself demanded public hanging of the culprit and pleads that the court grant him an exemplary punishment.
An autopsy revealed she had been raped and strangled to death.
The abuse was uncovered in 2015 and multiple suspects were arrested.
Furthermore, according to police, the suspect confessed to carrying out the heinous crime, and a polygraph test was also conducted which came positive, following which the criminal has been shifted to an undisclosed location.
"He was arrested before, but was released as we did not have evidence".
