Not too thin, and not too thick, at under 19 mm, the HP Chromebook 11 G6 and Chromebook 14 G5 start at 2.27 and 3.39 pounds respectively, which are fairly decent numbers for (semi) rugged machines created to survive kids as young as six. The new Acer Chromebook 11 boasts of being fanless and yet offers a long-last battery life, an impressive 11.6-inch screen, and USB 3.1 Type-C ports. They are all driven by Intel Celeron processors. Meanwhile, its CB311-8H counterpart will use the same LCD panel, but rely on the trackpad for control instead of touch.
The Chromebook 11 is outfitted with an 11.6-inch display that features a surprisingly low 1366×768 resolution, as well as options for touch and non-touch displays. The Chromebook R11 features fan-less design that makes it quiet and ideal to be used at shared spaces like a library or a coffee shop. Having said that, one of the best things about the Acer Chromebook 11 is that it comes with two USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 ports. Other specs include Bluetooth 4.2 and 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
Out of the box you'll have support for Android apps, along with the regular Chrome apps and extensions. This enables the Chromebook 11 to connect to a host of peripherals and displays as well as charge the device.
It will go on sale in March in the USA with base version starting $249.

As one of the early backers of Chrome OS, Acer has a lot invested into the platform.
Along with that, you get 4GB RAM (no upgrade option), a MicroSD card reader and it all comes in at just under 2.5 lbs and roughly 18mm thick. The notebook is equipped well enough for its price in the multimedia aspect as well with an HDR camera for Google Hangouts, dual stereo speakers, and an integrated microphone.
The new HP Chromebook will be released in April, with a price yet to be disclosed.
