Two arrested in murder of lesbian couple, children in NY

Two people have been arrested in the "horrific" murder of two women and a pair of children in their home in upstate NY. A property manager in the upstate NY city alerted police after finding the four in a basement apartment. "It was the number of people killed, the manner in which they were killed", Tedesco said. James White has been charged with four counts of second-degree murder.
Shanta Myers, 36, Brandi Mells, 22, and two of Myers' three children - Shanise Myers, 5, and Jeremiah "JJ" Myers, 11 - were found tied up and slashed to death in their Second Avenue apartment on Tuesday.
"Being in this business for nearly 42 years, I can't describe the savagery of a person like this".
During the emotional press conference, one attendee spoke up to say: "I was the coach of that young man".
Tedesco said Saturday that the victims were killed in the late evening on December 21, but would not describe how they were killed.
Speaking about the moment he found out about his family he said he "couldn't believe it".
"I fell down to the ground right in the bathroom and cried, thinking who would've done this?" She says she last spoke with her sister last week. "It feels like somebody has ripped us to shreds".

The two children were students in the Troy City School District, where grief counsellors were being brought in on Friday to help their classmates, it has been reported.
