Nebraska's unemployment rate falls to 2.7 percent; Iowa's at 2.9 percent

The San Antonio-New Braunfels MSA registered a rate of 3.0 percent for November.
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips have announced that the November statewide unemployment rate posted significantly lower than November 2016 and notably lower than the national average.
The Texas Workforce Commission on Friday reported that's the lowest monthly unemployment rate for the state in four decades.
Nebraska's jobless rate improved in November compared with last year, ticking down to 2.7 percent from 3.3 percent a year ago. Rates also dropped to record lows in California, Hawaii, Mississippi and Texas in November. Construction and leisure and hospitality followed, adding 8,200 and 8,000 jobs respectively. These states also led in month job gains.

On Maui, the unemployment rate was at 2% on Maui Island, up slightly from the 1.9% rate in October and down from the 3% reported at the same time past year. Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1% in November, the same as in October.
