It is alleged that Ahed was arrested for slapping a soldier during a demonstration the day before. It was shared by Quds News Network the same day with the caption: "These courageous Palestinians girls from the Tamimi family managed to kick two heavily armed Israeli soldiers who wanted to break into their house". The family alleged the soldiers beat them during the raid.
The arrest warrant, which was carried out by soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Border Police, stated that the girl was arrested for taking part in violent riots in the village, the Times of Israel reported, citing a statement from the IDF.
Two years ago, the family made headlines when an Israeli soldier violently attempted to arrest Nariman's son Muhammad, who had one arm in a cast at the time.
The arrest came in the wake of an incident, in which Ahed Tamimi, 17, and another teenager were seen on a video footage slapping and kicking two heavily-armed Israeli soldiers in the Palestinian village of Nabi Saleh in the central West Bank.
After Israelis Eitam and Na'ama Henkin were murdered in front of their four young children, Manal Tamimi tweeted, "all settlers in West Bank should stay at their house, Pal lions still free & can reach u & kill you where ever u r".
"They didn't give a reason for her arrest", he told AFP.
