Bon Jovi, Nina Simone among five Rock Hall of Fame inductees

Dire Straits. The Moody Blues and Sister Rosetta Tharpe are also part of the 2018 class announced.

Jon Bon Jovi performs at The Songwriters Hall of Fame 48th Induction and Awards Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan, New York, U.S. on June 15, 2017.

Sambora commented, stating, "It's certainly an honor to be recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and I am thinking about all of my heroes and my peers that have been inducted before me - it's great to be in that queue".

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, located on the shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, recognizes and archives the history of the best-known and most influential artists, producers, engineers, and other notable figures who have had some major influence on the development of rock and roll.

Passed over were British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST, who have been eligible since 1999 but were only nominated for the first time this year.

The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been announced. Bon Jovi was not "Livin' on a Prayer", their induction was a fait accompli: The Jersey band led the way with fans, with more than a million votes, followed by the Moody Blues, Dire Straits, and the Cars.

Honor launches Honor 7X in UAE
The Honor 7X does have a dual-camera setup, with a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary shooter. Of course, Honor does have portrait mode here, which is actually pretty good.

"It's a Christmas miracle", David Bryan, who plays keyboard for Bon Jovi, admitted.

But this year, the five inductees are nearly a mirror image of the top fan vote-getters, as though the electors didn't know whom to vote for and watched the results of the straw poll for guidance. The legendary Simone will be the first black woman inducted into the Hall since Donna Summer in 2013.

There was plenty of excitement for Bon Jovi. Tickets will go on sale in January and the event will later air on HBO and be heard on SiriusXM Radio. Should that be the case in April in Cleveland, it would mark the first public performance by Dire Straits since the group disbanded in 1995.

Bon Jovi also spoke about the band's former members Richie Sambora and Alec John Such reuniting with the group for the occasion.

Others were disappointed the band didn't get in this year.
