Zionists and evangelists praise White House after Trump announcement on Jerusalem

Hanukkah is a Jewish festival commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen and Rabbi Meir Soloveichik were also in the room.

The White House denied that politics played a role in the invitations.

Activists' efforts included an email campaign launched by the group My Faith Votes. "That's something that the United States is very much committed", said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

However no Democratic congress people were invited to the event, despite the fact that 28 of the 30 Jewish House members are Democrats.

Thousands of Palestin-ians demonstrated, scores were hurt and at least one killed in clashes with Israeli troops on a "day of rage" on Friday against Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

During a Wednesday speech regarding Jerusalem, President Donald Trump raised some eyebrows regarding not only what he said, but how he said it.

American Christian Leaders for Israel, in the letter to Trump posted on its website, said they were "gravely concerned that with every passing day it will become more hard to move the embassy and if you do not do it now, it may never happen".

"He does have a physical scheduled for the first part of next year, the full physical that most presidents go through". Much of the access comes through the Office of Public Liaison and its deputy director, Jennifer Korn, whose portfolio includes faith groups. "I'm saying there's nothing to it", Shah said.

Evangelicals still strongly believe that the land was given to the Jews by God, and that it is Israel's right to have Jerusalem as its capital.

"He's so happy with yesterday, that he doesn't care if I get it exact", the president said.

"Hanukkah is a time for Jewish families around the world to celebrate the miracles of the past and the promises of the future", Trump said.
