Jeremy Pruitt to be named Tennessee head coach

Reports on Wednesday night claimed that Tennessee is in the process of finalizing a deal to make current Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt its new head coach.

Pruitt is one of four former Nick Saban assistants serving as head coaches in the SEC.

Pruitt also was defensive coordinator for Florida State's 2013 national championship team, which led the nation in scoring defense.

The 43-year-old is widely recognized as an excellent recruiter and was a Broyles Award finalist in 2016.

Alabama ranks No. 2 in the nation in total defense, allowing just 257.8 yards per game this season. "Now I'm not sure that he can go in and steal Alabama commits this year, especially given the short window of time, but the future is bright from a recruiting standpoint".

The country's fiscal deficit crossed 96 per cent of budget estimates at October-end, according to government data. The growth in public administration, defence and other services also stood at 6 per cent.

According to, Fulmer had second interviews with Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker and Pruitt, who was eventually dubbed as the next head football coach.

We've seen these kind of hires work out greatly for some, including defending national champion Clemson with Dabo Swinney, but fail other times. Once word leaked that Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano had been tabbed for the job, an outcry from alumni, fans, former players and politicians ultimately squashed the deal.

Currie met last week with Washington State's Mike Leach and was forced out the next day.

At long last, the mother of all coaching searches is over.

According to Propst, Pruitt is among the most precise and detail-oriented assistants he ever worked with. Tennessee has hired Pruitt as its head coach on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, capping a tumultuous search that cost an athletic director his job as the Volunteers attempt to recover from one of their most disappointing seasons.
