Following mass shootings, House GOP votes to expand gun rights

"We now call on the Senate to take up and pass this critical legislation", Cox concluded.

The House passed new legislation on Wednesday that would require all states to recognize concealed carry permits from other states.

Two things need to be noted here.

In theory, the bill would allow someone who holds a permit from a state with lax restrictions to carry a concealed firearm in a state where they would not otherwise qualify for a permit.
