Army Jawan's body with bullet wounds found in J&K's Shopian

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday condemned the killing of a Territorial Army soldier Irfan Ahmed Dar at Shopian in the state. He had come home on vacation when terrorists abducted him along with his vehicle.

"We are investigating", director general of police SP Vaid said.

According to reports, the deceased, who was reportedly working for the Army, was on a vacation and was missing since Friday.

The police have initiated investigation into the murder and the hunt for the unidentified gunmen is on, officials said.

She said such heinous acts will not weaken their resolve to establish peace and normalcy in the valley.

"It is very unfortunate that such acts of unending violence have been taking a heavy toll of younger generation which is the future hope of our society", Mehbooba said.

Irfan Ahmad Dar is the third off duty Kashmiri soldier killed this year.

On September 28, 31-year-old Mohammad Ramzan Parray of the Border Security Force (BSF) was shot dead by terrorists in his ancestral Hajin village of Bandipora district.
