Here's the first look at new Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker

The first female Doctor Who in the long-running British sci-fi series will get a brand-new look.

BBC has released the first image of Jodie Whittaker in her new costume as The Doctor, and I could not be more pleased!

Stripes on the sweater point to those on the striped scarf won by Tom Baker's Doctor, while the suspenders pay homage to the 11th Doctor Matt Smith.

For the uninitiated, "Doctor Who" follows a hyper-intelligent time-traveler who journeys across time and space and encounters all manner of unusual life forms and obstacles to overcome.

But Whittaker is also rocking her own style, putting a fresh, feminine twist on the 13 outfits that came before.

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1070 Ti battles AMD's latest video cards
We can finally stop talking about the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti as a speculative release based on leaks and rumors. It is claimed to deliver up to 35% more performance over the GTX 1080, which was launched previous year .

Logistically, though, we do gotta say that the jacket/robe/whatever that is looks like it'll probably fall off anytime she runs more than a couple of seconds. We're always hungry for that first peek of how our new Doctor will look and if any past incarnations had some influence to the feel.

What do you think of the new look? David Tennant's Tenth Doctor sometimes wore a long coat, but the coloring is closer to the outfit worn by Peter Davison's Fifth Doctor.

Whittaker will be joined by an all-new cast of characters in the series, including Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill.

Whittaker was announced to be the latest actor to play the time-travelling adventurer back in July, and will take over from Peter Capaldi when his twelfth doctor regenerates in the upcoming Christmas special.
