U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson said she was inclined to impose stricter bail conditions on Manafort and Rick Gates, who spent last week in home confinement after they were arrested on a variety of charges, reported Politico.
Both must remain in their homes in Virginia with electronic Global Positioning System monitoring them until they work out a deal to disclose their assets and secure a bond, Jackson said during hearing in U.S. District Court in Washington. At least until his next status conference, scheduled for the morning of December 11, Manafort "remains in the High Intensity Supervision Program", according to the ruling. Jackson has previously proposed May 7, 2018 for the trial to start.
Manafort and Gates have been charged with money laundering and other crimes as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference.
Manafort may owe $10 million if he violates his release terms, while Gates could owe $5 million if he violates his terms.
They were released into home confinement with Global Positioning System monitoring on $10 million and $5 million unsecured bail bonds last week and are now petitioning the court for more flexible conditions. He promised to limit his travel to Washington, D.C., Florida, New York and Virginia and to not apply for any travel documents.
In court papers, Manafort has pledged $12.5 million in assets to guarantee that he'll show up for future court appearances.

The Raiders will have 10 days to get ready for a tough road game against the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park on October 29. Lynch looked to get in the middle of the situation and get his good friend and Oakland native Peters out of the way.
Manafort has offered a Trump Tower condo, another apartment in New York City's Chinatown and a home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to ensure his appearance in court, but the judge wasn't sure how much those properties were actually worth.
The value of the Trump Tower condo on Fifth Avenue in NY is also a question mark, the federal authorities said.
Manafort and his co-defendant in the case, former Trump campaign aide Rick Gates, are both now under house arrest and wearing Global Positioning System monitoring devices.
They still contend he's a flight risk, and say his total net worth - which Manafort claims is $28 million - is unclear until he gives them more details.
However, the charges are not directly tied to the campaign itself. They have pleaded not guilty and were placed on home confinement with Global Positioning System monitoring.
