Gunman At Large After Killing 2 Men In Grambling State University Shooting

An unnamed female student called the campus police after the incident and that is when the two dead bodies were discovered.

The shooting occurred as students celebrated the university's Homecoming, the Monroe News Star reported.

The victims were identified as 23-year-old Earl Williams, a senior from Farmerville, Louisiana and Monquiarius Caldwell, also 23, from Farmerville, said Grambling State University spokesman Will Sutton.

The school issued an alert early Wednesday and the Twitter account for the GSU Residential Life warned students to remain in their residential halls. The shooter, who is not believed to be a student, fled the scene and is still on the run.

Thursday's signing of the agreement in Cairo was reached after two days of Egyptian-brokered negotiations. It is unclear whether that unresolved issue will delay Abbas' government's return to Gaza.

Police say the shooting began as "an altercation that started inside one of the dorm rooms and spilled out into the courtyard".

The campus has not been placed on lockdown following the shooting, but students have been advised to stay inside and be vigilant. CBS notes that this isn't the only shooting to devastate Louisiana's Grambling University recently.

"Our prayers go out to the victims and their families", media relations director Sutton said in an on-camera statement. The LPSO is now collaborating with the Grambling State University Police to get to the root of the case. "We will fully cooperate with the police investigation".
