52 percent of Americans oppose Trump's tax plan

Conversely, 65% of Democrats do not believe the media fabricates stories about President Trump. Forty-four percent of independent voters think the media fabricates stories about Trump, while 31 percent said they do not.

And yet the poll found that only 28% of voters believe the government should yank the broadcasting license of news organizations, with the majority - 51% - saying it should not be able to do so.

The poll, conducted October 12-15, surveyed 1,010 people. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
