Under the downgraded plan, the president would visit the U.K.as part of a tour of several countries in Europe and also possibly open the new USA embassy in London.
Theresa May sparked huge controversy when she offered the US President a state visit as a guest of the Queen on a trip to Washington shortly after he was inaugurated where they were pictured holding hands. He would also allegedly miss out on a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II.
Speaking during his daily LBC talk show, the former United Kingdom politician said: "Everywhere he goes he is given a full state visit and yet, with this country, it has been decided that when he will come in 2018 he will not go to Buckingham Palace for dinner".
After inspecting a Guard of Honour, the visiting party then travels in a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace.

It was reported today that diplomats are now arranging a lower-key "working visit" for the president, which will be part of a tour he will make of a number of countries.
From there, the visitor will meet the British prime minister and other prominent politicians at the Houses of Parliament, and may attend a second banquet hosted by London's Lord Mayor.
The fact that the government still doesn't dare to schedule the full state visit is a sign of the strength of opposition to Trump in the UK.
"Our position on the State Visit has not changed - an offer has been extended and President Trump has accepted". Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah, China's President Xi Jinping and US President George Bush are among the guests who have attracted condemnation in previous years.
