Las Vegas shooter's girlfriend didn't know of attack plans

Law enforcement officials say Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines before he opened fire on a country music festival crowd Sunday in the worst mass shooting in modern USA history.

Paddock had wired $100,000 to the Philippines, a law enforcement source said.

No motive has emerged yet for the deadly shooting spree by Paddock, a wealthy, 64-year-old retired accountant who liked to gamble for high stakes and owned a comfortable home at a golf course retirement community near Las Vegas.

Stephen Paddock didn't just have 23 weapons in his Mandalay Bay hotel suite, which he turned into a sniper's nest to kill 58 concertgoers in Las Vegas.

Earlier Monday, Eric Paddock - the brother of the las Vegas shooter - told reporters outside of his home in Orlando, Florida, that he was born while his father was on the run from authorities.

A lawyer for Marilou Danley read a statement from her after she was questioned by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in Los Angeles about her boyfriend, Stephen Paddock.

She said she was initially pleased when Stephen Paddock wired her money in the Philippines to buy a house for her family, but she later feared it was a way to break up with her.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo says investigators are hoping to get some insight from Marilou Danley on why her boyfriend Stephen Paddock opened fire on a concert crowd from a high-rise hotel room.

"She didn't even know that she was going to the Philippines until Steve said 'Marilou I found you a cheap ticket to the Philippines'".

"His bravery was fantastic because he remained with our officers, provided them with a key pass to access the door and actually continued to help them clear rooms", Lombardo said. "For the moment, we believe that it is the only aggressor", a e said the sheriff, Joe Lombardo, referring to a "lone wolf".

President Donald Trump traveled to Las Vegas, where he met privately with shooting victims and their families and told the city that the nation stands with them to share in their grief. The attack left more than 500 people injured.

The officials said that as of midday Wednesday, there was no indication she was aware of Paddock's plans.
