Mr El Sisi also held meeting with New York-based and other American groups that have a strong interest in developments in the region.
The Egyptian leader made a similar appeal to Israelis, saying that decades of Israeli-Egyptian peace could be expanded to the Palestinians to "overcome the barrier of hatred forever".
Addressing the Israelis, Sisi said: "We have an excellent experience in Egypt in peace with you for longer than 40 years".
Israel and Egypt are "really on the same page on a host of regional issues", Teitelbaum noted, and "the public nature of the meeting demonstrate [s] el-Sisi's confidence in his position at home".

Sisi hailed the efforts of the U.S. administration to that end, saying that a fair settlement will lead to a new reality in the Middle East where all peoples can live in stability and security and enjoy development.
Netanyahu's office said the 90 minute meeting included a discussion about a range of regional issues and that al-Sissi expressed his desire to support Israeli-Palestinian regional peace efforts.

On Monday evening, Netanyahu met with US President Donald Trump for the first time since his visit to Israel in May.
Egypt's more than 40 years of peace with Israel can be repeated in the Palestinian territories if Palestinian Arabs are willing to overcome their differences with Israelis and one another, Egyptian President Abdul Fatah Sisi said in an address to the UN General Assembly on September 19.
