Appalachian State quarterback Taylor Lamb was 18 of 27 for 128 yards and the Mountaineers passed for 148 yards total. So expect Georgia to prevail over the Mountaineers behind its clear superiority in over-all talent and depth.
School is back in session and the grades are in for this week's Georgia victory. "You've got to take those things and build off them as we head into next week".
True freshman Jake Fromm walked onto the field for his first regular season game and promptly led his team down the field for the game's first touchdown. Eason had no time to get comfortable.
Georgia's offense was ineffective to start the game with two three-and-outs and on the third drive. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious for him. "He played in our scrimmages just like he played out there".
"(Fromm) showed tremendous poise for a freshman in how he handled the situation", said Javon Wims, who caught Fromm's first career touchdown pass.
Fromm's entrance sparked Georgia, which went three-and-out on its first two possessions against the Mountaineers, the preseason pick to win the Sun Belt Conference. Ramsey promptly threw an interception that led to the end of Georgia's shutout, reminding everyone how suddenly thin the Bulldogs are at quarterback behind its two elite teenagers. Nick Chubb rushed for 96 yards and a pair of scores, while Michel had 87 yards and a touchdown of his own.

That is up from 32 per cent in February but well below the 41.5 per cent her party won in the last election in 2013. She said: "We're a democracy and everyone can freely express themselves in public the way they want".
Fromm attempted just one pass on the drive and it was perfectly placed to Wims for a 34-yard touchdown. But that doesn't tell the whole story. He looks ready to be the top wide receiver for the Dawgs this season. But the offensive line quickly quieted the "haters". Consider Saturday just the first step toward accomplishing that objective. Bravo, Sam Pittman and company, bravo. He was hit very late on the play, resulting in him twisting his knee near the sidelines. The rest of the defensive line did a good job for most of the contest. Further, the Mountaineers had several long runs Saturday, which the Bulldogs plan to shore up going forward. And the Bulldogs sorely need to make a statement right out of the gate against an upset-minded Appalachian State team. "I'm not thinking of who's going to Notre Dame", Smart said.
"Fromm executed a lot better when he got in", Satterfield said. The Bulldogs went 8-5 last season and lost to TCU in the Liberty Bowl. That is how critical these four guys are to the success of Georgia's defense.
Fromm entered the game with 6:30 left in the first quarter, immediately ending any possibility of a redshirt season.
The Bulldogs have done OK getting sacks and tackles for loss in recent seasons, but they can do better. Meanwhile, his counterparts in the secondary were kind of unexceptional. "Coming in to the game, if there's a weak spot, maybe the secondary". Eastside's Tee Sims had three tackles with one solo. The Mountaineers completed 21 passes, but only for 148 yards. The Bulldogs also rarely let plays bounce outside.
"I was very honored", Fleck said afterward.
"Guys weren't in their gaps and responsibility is what it comes down to", senior linebacker Eric Boggs said. Oh, how wrong was that thought... But the Mountaineers gave up only 125.5 rushing yards per game in 2016. They got smacked the following week at home by OR after plummeting out of the top 25 entirely, although they did score a victory at the end of the year against Tim Tebow, Urban Meyer and Florida. Sophomore Rodrigo Blankenship made his only field goal attempt, a 23-yard chip shot, but what was more impressive were his kickoffs.
