Police Increase Patrols Around Home Of Lottery Winner

A 53-year-old MA mother has become the biggest lottery victor in USA history after scooping a US$758 million (NZ$1 billion) powerball prize. "I called and told them I will not be coming back".

Wanczyk chose to take a lump-sum payment of $480 million, or $336 million after taxes, lottery officials said.

Wanczyk who worked as a hospital employee in Chicopee, Massachusetts has made a mistake, she failed to protect her identity.

"That's just the way life is sometimes", the 64-year-old said shurgging his shoulders.

Wanczyk has two adult children, a daughter and a son.

"We pay our people well; we give them full benefits", Bolduc said.

Wilk said they were told by a neighbor that she is not around.

Bolduc's store found out that they sold the winning numbers in the $758.7 million jackpot around 8 a.m.

Mickey: Clear to partly cloudy skies for today's eclipse!
But some good news: Total eclipses can actually improve local weather conditions in the moments before totality. The overnight lows will be in the upper 70's and near 80 along the coast with inland spots in the middle 70's.

One ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven store at 81 Beach Road in Hampton.

"We apologize for the confusion this created and remain thrilled that a jackpot winning ticket and two $1 million winning tickets were sold here in MA". Five white balls were drawn from a drum containing 69 balls and one red ball was selected from a drum with 26 balls.

Amid all the talk about sudden wealth, it's easy to forget that the goal of Powerball is to raise money for government programs in the 44 states where the game is played, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

"When manually recording the names of the retailers that sold the jackpot winning ticket and the $1 million winning tickets, the information was transcribed incorrectly".

The reason the prize is so large is because there hasn't been a Powerball jackpot victor since June 10.

By Massacusetts law, Lord would be entitled to half the winnings if he had married Wanczyk-a hefty sum of $168 million.

According to the official Powerball website, the next jackpot to be awarded Saturday night is valued at $40 million.
