New Star Wars Battlefront 2 Trailer Shows Off Starfighter Assault Mode

Battlefront II, we're hoping Electronic Arts rights its wrongs.

At the very least, at least Battlefront II will launch with space battles. In the meantime, how about we whet your appetite with a new look at another anticipated Star Wars sequel? However, the gameplay was extremely generic.

EA and DICE have released a new Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer which gives you a look at some of the maps and space battles located in various areas of the game.

Star Wars Battlefront II releases on November 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. In the trailer, we see Resistance X-Wing Starfighters and the aforementioned Millennium Falcon attack a patrol of First Order fighters, clearing a path to the First Order Star Destroyer.

Space battles are such a pivotal part of the Star Wars mythos and so it's great to see heroes worked into the fold.

For example, we'll be able to play as characters and in areas from the original trilogy.

Next, we get a look at Fondor, a planet located in the Colonies region of the galaxy which is now a manufacturing center for the Empire featuring large shipyards. Some prequel era content is also included here such as Darth Maul and even Yoda. What you're seeing is not gameplay but was captured in-engine, so keep that in mind when looking at the impressive-looking footage.

EA is hosting a live show from Gamescom on Monday, August 21 starting at 9:30 AM PT.

If you want to test out the game prior to its launch, a multiplayer beta will be available on October 4.
