When The Defenders launches tomorrow, fans will have been waiting two years, four months and eight days for that team-up of Marvel's street level heroes - but having had early access to the first half of the series (Netflix has only made episodes 1-4 available for review), we're sad to say they'll be waiting another three hours to see the team together. And that fight doesn't even come close to the artfully shot and edited brawls of Daredevil's first two seasons.
The counterpoint is that The Defenders is, by its nature, nearly totally inaccessible to newcomers.
Our Netflix superheroes will unite in Marvel's The Defenders! That way, it will be much easier for Danny and Matt to eventually convince their teammates to work together, and to give them a better chance of defeating the Hand and ultimately, Alexandra. Cage has to get out of prison and reconnect with his new love interest Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson); Jones has to balance her careers as a private detective and a fall-down drunk; Daredevil has to fix his legal career and sulk in confessional; and Iron Fist has to continue his war against the mysterious Hand, the aforementioned crime syndicate. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal - to save New York City.
The Harry Potter spinoff/prequel "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" (2016) sends British magic scholar Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to 1920s NY and unleashes magical creatures into the human world (PG-13).
Opposition parties emboldened by no confidence vote results
The opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) on Thursday submitted a motion calling for the National Assembly to be dissolved. The DA will now push to have our motion moved above the line and debated as soon as possible.
A Netflix original series, Marvel's Jessica Jones is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade, as she faces demons from within and without.
From the trailer, we know Matt Murdock is going to represent Jessica Jones over some unspecified legal problems, but now we know she's being interrogated by Misty Knight. Remember all that Black Sky business at the end of "Daredevil" Season 2? Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage live in smaller worlds right now in their own shows, and it will be really cool to see those worlds collide/ expand on The Defenders.
Alexandra is certainly relishing that power in this trailer as we see her in action meeting the heroes who would oppose her. Here, she and Jessica seem to be discussing something important. a new case, perhaps?
