White Sox place Willy Garcia on DL, call Delmonico from Charlotte

Yoan Moncada and Willy Garcia of the Chicago White Sox were in an bad collision in right field during the team's game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night at Guaranteed Rate Field. Moncada didn't put any weight on his right leg as teammate Jose Abreu helped him climb on the cart. As we get the evaluations, we'll know exactly where we might sit. A more serious injury would definitely be a step back for Moncada.

Both players were removed from the game immediately after assistance from both the White Sox and Blue Jays medical staffs. Moncada drifted back in pursuit while Garcia raced in.

Garcia, who was replaced in right field by Alen Hanson following his collision with Moncada, has appeared in 40 games for the White Sox this season. "Thank God they are, and that's something that we have to be happy about". "Those plays happen. I wish I could tell you it would take more communication but when two guys are going at a ball that's in between both of them, every now and then those occur". Both could wind up on the disabled list, and it's the symptoms that come after Monday night for Garcia that could determine when he returns to game action. But Garcia wasn't sure if he had to undergo any concussion protocol. Davidson, who capped the team's six-run comeback with a two-out, game-winning single in the ninth inning, only saw the aftermath when the replay showed on the scoreboard in center.
