BET Awards 2017: 6 reasons to tune in

There's nothing better than getting an intimate look inside one of music's biggest nights - right from your couch!

The BET or Black Entertainment Television Awards are set to take place on 25 June to celebrate the African Americans and minorities and their contribution to music, sports, television and film.

The ceremony airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on BET, but here are a few ways to catch behind-the-scenes footage and red carpet interviews without a TV.

Host Leslie Jones tweeted the big news on Friday (23Jun17). Following this year's Oscars Best Picture debacle, Jones said she's steeling herself for possible mistakes she might make onstage. "I am looking to turn this whole experience into a joyful homecoming".

The Ghetto Kids dance group from Uganda are in California, Los Angeles United States to represent their country and the East Africa at large at the BET Awards, later today. "I want everybody to come to this show to have a good time". In addition to Bruno's performance, the BET Awards will feature performances from DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Future, Migos, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Lifetime Achievement Award recipients New Edition and many more.

Who Will be Presenting the Awards?

The 24K Magic singer will open the award show with a performance. Plus, Beyoncé received seven nods, including one for best female R&B/pop artist. Chance the Rapper and Migos are up for four nominations as wel, and a full list of the 2017 BET Awards nominees is available here.

Presenters include Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Trevor Noah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Issa Rae and Yara Shahidi.

The 2017 BET Awards will be hosted by actress/comedian and SNL star Leslie Jones.
