Swift's open letter to the company resulted in them reversing the decision within 24 hours.

The announcement by Swift may ramp up rivalry with Perry, 32, who released her new album's first single, "Swish Swish", last month.

"In celebration of 1989 selling over 10 million albums worldwide and the RIAA's 100 million song certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services tonight at midnight", Swift's management said in a statement. Fast forward to today, and it seems like Spotify and other music streaming services are here to stay.

Taylor Swift's come back into the spotlight comes at the flawless moment, and we'll let you know why.

Taylor Swift is rewarding her loyal fans for helping her reach a very special goal.

Well, something tells me she'll also find this Machiavellian move by Swift as equally as messed up. Her catalog had previously only been available on Apple Inc's Music service.

"Taylor Swift said she hates Spotify".

A couple of years ago, the Grammy victor shook the music industry when she penned an open letter to Apple Music as she slammed their decision to not offer artist compensations during the free trial of the service. When asked about her producer and collaborator Max Martin - with whom Swift wrote "Bad Blood" - (a song supposedly about Perry), she told NME, "I can't speak for him, but he didn't know [who "Bad Blood" was about]".

Some fans found the timing of Swift's return interesting.

Some people are theorizing that Swift timed the release of her music on Spotify to undercut the attention around Perry's new album. And that's potentially shady because the two don't see eye to eye, with Perry telling James Corden during his talk show (see below) that there was "a situation" between the two singers.
