After Hamas decade, Gaza short on freedom, jobs, electricity

Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian man and injured at least six others during a protest along the besieged Gaza Strip's northern border with Israel.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen and Libya cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism and terrorist groups, destabilizing the region and involving in the internal affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Qatar denies the allegations.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said Qatar must sever its ties with Hamas.

Over the years, Gaza's Hamas rulers have built a labyrinth of tunnels, including ones that cross under the border with Israel, and have used them to launch attacks during the 2014 Gaza war.

The parties also alleged that the comment "exposed" the BJP's "contempt" for the father of the nation. "It is unfortunate, uncalled for and unethical".

The delegation, headed by the group's leader Ismail Haniyeh, may also tour several other countries after being cut off from a major source of support in Qatar, reported Israeli media. In fact, he said, Hamas "would not be able to survive in the [Hamas-controlled] Gaza Strip or fund its wars with Israel without Qatari funding".

Despite hosting Hamas' political leaders, Qatar's vision for peace was in direct contradiction with Hamas' until recently when Hamas changed its long-held position on the two-state solution in a new political document. He said Turkey, which has always been an ally of Hamas, would find it "very difficult" to fill the financial void should Qatar withdraw support because of its own "economic constraints and priorities".

Top Hamas commander Saleh al-Arouri is believed to be in Malaysia, after being expelled from Qatar, amid the kingdom's fallout with Saudi Arabia and four other Arab states, according to reports from Israel. He dubbed Hamas as one of the "extremist" groups that Doha needs to cut ties with it in order for relations with its Gulf neighbors to be normalized.

"We were surprised by the PA's decision to stop paying monthly stipends out to prisoners released within the framework of the 2011 prisoner-exchange deal without providing any justification or prior notice", NGO head Abdel Rahman Shadid said at a Tuesday press conference in Gaza City. Gen. Yoav Mordechai that they will not help Hamas, as the terrorist organization attacks them and Abbas. The terror group expressed shock over the demand.
