Trump's plans for Jerusalem Western Wall visit rock Israelis more than Aerosmith

A prominent American rabbi who took part in President Donald Trump's inauguration in January expressed sharp disappointment on Tuesday with the White House's ongoing reluctance to clarify its position on Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem - but also stated he was confident the president himself would rectify the matter once he arrives in the Jewish state next Monday.
Trump's signal could be as symbolic as identifying the city as "Jerusalem, Israel", on official White House documents and photographs while he is there, according to sources familiar with planning for the trip.
Spicer's remarks came hours after another senior Trump administration official, H.R. McMaster, declined to answer a direct question as to whether the U.S. government considers the Western Wall to be within Israeli territory.
A final meeting is expected to be held on Tuesday with the White House advance team, in which the timetable for the visit will be finalised.
Congressman Ron DeSantis is speaking out regarding a controversy involving President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to Israel, which will include a visit to the Western Wall. At the same time, Israel will be celebrating the anniversary of that occupation's start during Trump's visit, while trying to maintain the myth of an "eternal, undivided city" that isn't under occupation at all.
Senior Washington officials reiterated on Tuesday evening that the US embassy will indeed be moved to Jerusalem.

No Israeli leaders will join President Trump to the Western Wall.

NY [U.S.], May 16:: A rift has been created between Washington and Jerusalem after an American diplomat described the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City as part of the West Bank.
Israel objected and sought to make it a public visit with Netanyahu escorting him, which USA diplomats rejected, with one noting Israel doesn't have sovereignty over the Western Wall.
The Trump administration has vowed to do this multiple times but has demurred on the highly controversial move since assuming office.
