Warriors close out sweep of Jazz in dominant fashion

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are a combined 15-0 in this year's NBA Playoffs.

Utah is the latest team searching for answers on how to slow down Golden State's offense. They'll visit the Utah Jazz Monday night in Game 4 of their 2017 National Basketball Association playoff series, looking to complete a sweep and remain ideal in the postseason.

"It was important for us to close out this series, you never want to drag a series out and suddenly you get knick-knack injuries and all those things", Draymond Green told NBA TV after the game. The Warriors are 5-1 straight up and 3-3 ATS, but they have yet to win any of those games by more than 11 points.

Things may be going well for the Golden State Warriors.

During this three-game set against the Dubs, Utah has been led by its stars: Gordon Hayward (24.7 points) and Rudy Gobert (16.7 points, 13 rebounds).

Durant wasn't almost as productive as Game 4, when he popped 38 points, but his 18 points in this one were pretty timely. Golden State brought the Trail Blazers season to a screeching halt.

"Whatever happened in the game was going to happen", Durant said. It just hasn't been enough to take down the best team in the league. "I made a few shots there".

Red Sox throw behind Manny Machado's head, still lose series to Orioles
Dustin Pedroia, still injured, apologized for something he didn't do. "That's not how you do that", Pedroia told reporters. OF Joey Rickard (sprained finger) took soft-toss swings in a session manager Buck Showalter called "very encouraging".

But the side characters are what continue to crush Golden State's opponents. Some games it is Durant.

Utah hasn't been able to match that arsenal in the first three games. JaVale McGee showed some shades of the Portland series, scoring 12 points in 11 minutes.

That duo didn't get much help from the second unit.

It allowed the Warriors to seize momentum in the fourth quarter.

The third quarter saw a brief spark by the Jazz and they cut the lead to 6 points, 66-60 in the first four minutes of the period.

But, before we get into who is standing in their way - Houston/San Antonio and likely Cleveland - let's consider who they have beaten to reach 7-0 in the playoffs. "They're very tough to guard".

The Warriors didn't turn the ball over in the second half on Saturday night, either. They did not commit a turnover after halftime and finished with seven overall. It also took the boisterous Jazz fans out of the game down the stretch. Their players are taking notice because there is a huge reward they can win if they sweep a series. "They stayed poised. They could have caved at any time, especially in the third when Utah went on a run".
