Countless directors have flirted with the property, and plenty of writers have taken a crack at the script, including writers Alex Litvak and Mike Finch, who initially worked on the script over six years ago, circling back to try again most recently.
However, a new screenwriter has been brought on board in hopes of attracting new talent. McG was scheduled to be directing the film, but now the movie has no director. Of course, that all sounds like complete bulls**t and there isn't a snowball's chance in Eternia that this was going to reach those kind of standards, but it does speak to how enthusiastic McG was about the project. Goyer, however, has reportedly been hired to write a new screenplay.
Casting details have also been kept under wraps, but last summer (16), Twilight star Kellan Lutz was linked to the film after news spread of a meeting the Twilight star had with McG. Ah 1987... you know it really wasn't that bad.
Planned Parenthood Exec Busted Again Trying To Sell Baby Body Parts
In the first undercover video released by CMP, Deborah Nucatola, the senior director of medical services for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, commented on crushing babies.
Nevertheless, Sony is apparently sticking with a December 18, 2019 release date. Kellan Lutz was rumored to be interested in the role previous year.
The Hollywood reboot train trudges on, and the next franchise in line for a gritty reboot is the 80s cult classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Since Masters of the Universe is still early in development, we might not hear anything for a little while.
