Manchester United insist star man has not requested transfer

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a shock swoop for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart this summer.

Anthony Martial will be an option from the bench but Mourinho will have to call upon the youngsters as he has very few other senior options with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out for the season.

"Good people, good boys, committed people".

"I think they missed happiness, they missed trust, they missed belief". They missed this extra bit that brings resilience, brings you fight.

"Yes, of course, all the time we finish above them in the season, it shows City are doing very well", said Toure when asked about the shift in the balance of power. Every player needs to know how to move position, change position, play in different positions - and I think he's asked a lot from them this year, and I think that might be the one thing he'll look at this year: "did I ask too much from this group?" Teams are always thinking of counter-attacking against us and that is the difficulty.

Van Gaal was sacked last May after winning the FA Cup but failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The games are coming thick and fast for United, as they take on Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday following on from the visit of Swansea this weekend. It has cost Mourinho two midfielders, in Paul Pogba and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and a third, Marouane Fellaini, is suspended following his moment of madness in headbutting Sergio Aguero during the midweek derby with Manchester City.

United had 31 per cent possession in this game - an extraordinary lack of ambition given how much a win in the fixture means to the club's supporters.

For all the fatigue within the squad, United defender Matteo Darmian has insisted he and his team-mates will not use tiredness as an excuse for any poor results between now and the end of the campaign.

"They had more ball, they had more chances but I have to defend the players and the spirit of my players and say they were incredible the way they fight", he said, after his team extended their unbeaten run to 24 games. "It's our objective to finish in the top four". We did absolutely everything to win and tonight it wasn't enough.

"They had more of the ball, more chances, but my players were awesome the way they fought".

"Mourinho and Tuanzebe against Swansea".

"We have played 18 more matches than Liverpool", said the Portuguese, who side equalled the club record of 24 successive top-flight games without defeat.
