In yet another incident of rash driving, a speeding vehicle ran over people who were sleeping on a pavement near Delhi's Kashmiri Gate area. The shocking incident took place at Kashmiri Gate in the national capital. The vehicle had three occupants- all Class XII students- of a top school in Delhi, said a senior police officer.

However, they weren't wearing school uniforms, police said. The police identified the three injured in the accident as Asif, Karan and Sanjay, all of whom appear to be daily wage earners. The police have nabbed the driver of the vehicle. "His friends fled the scene after the accident", Narwal told IANS. He was produced in court and sent to Tihar Jail, police said.

The police said that it registered a case at the Kashmere Gate Police Station and added that is continuing to probe the matter. Police sources said the boy did not have a licence and was not allowed to drive by his parents. But Police Control Room received the information at 6.15 a.m. According to TV report, the victims were all pavement dwellers. Meanwhile, patrolling staff also reached the spot.
