Truecaller will associate with Google Duo to bring the video calling service to its Android and iOS customers. The service will be permission-based, and those who opt-in will be able to quickly video-chat with their contacts through a small Duo icon without having to leave the app.
With Truecaller 8, the company is utilizing its mobile identity platform to build a mobile payment service in partnership with ICICI Bank, India's leading private-sector bank.
Additional functionality includes a flash messaging feature, which, allows you to respond to messages with quick, canned responses.

Through the Truecaller Android app, users will now be able to identify rogue SMS messages in addition to calls, meaning they can filter out those pesky spam texts.

As per the partnership, Truecaller users will be able to create a unique Virtual Payment Address (VPA) in the app, and can instantly send/receive money using any Unified Payment Interface- (UPI) supported bank.
On a related note, if you're confused about Google's messaging app strategy, well, you're not the only one, as the company now offers Duo, Allo, Hangouts, and Messenger.
"@ICICIBank is the first bank globally to associate with @Truecaller in their maiden foray into financial services", ICICI Bank said on Twitter. The company has partnered with ICICI Bank to introduce a peer-to-peer payment solution, allowing its users to send and receive payments from within the app. Keeping up with the times, and maybe a little late to the party, Truecaller will be embracing the Digital India and cash less India initiatives by offering its own version of a digital wallet service.
