Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin arrested in Dallas

Dallas police arrested the Seattle Seahawks quarterback early Monday in the aftermath of a serious vehicle accident, according to FOX-4 Dallas.

A bartender was injured when bottles of alcohol and a large cooler fell. As a result, he was among two people who were arrested while the driver of the vehicle was also arrested on suspicion of DUI charges. The driver was Shabrika Bailey, 25, and her passenger was Trevone Boykin, 23, an NFL football player and former star TCU quarterback. He was booked on misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana.

The crash reportedly injured eight people, seven of whom were hospitalized. None have life-threatening injuries, but the accident was just the start of Boykins' latest troubles.

He was suspended for what was to be the final game of his career at TCU, the 2016 Alamo Bowl, after being arrested on December 31, 2015 following a bar fight in San Antonio.

It marks Boykin's second arrest in less than 15 months. He was then suspended for the Alamo Bowl, and Boykin is on probation stemming from the incident.

In the 2015 incident, Boykin pled guilty in June to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.

Boykin served as the backup quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks last season. His bond was set at $500. "We are still gathering information and are disappointed". He received a year's probation. He made five appearances, throwing for 145 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
