Cummings: Nunes Should be Investigated for Trump Revelations

House Intelligence Ranking Member, Congressman Adam Schiff, (D-CA) told reporters in a Wednesday afternoon press conference that he would have preferred that Nunes present the intel to their full committee before telling the media about it.

During a Monday hearing, FBI Director James Comey told the committee that the bureau was investigating potential ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian Federation government since late July.

On Wednesday Nunes took the unusual step of holding a press conference to acknowledge that he had seen the intelligence reports and that they showed "there was incidental" surveillance of "the president-elect and his team".

Let's start with Nunes. Key American citizens were "unmasked" and their names appeared in the intelligence.

"He's having difficulty separating his role as a surrogate for the administration with his role as a committee chairman that has to do a very important, arguably pivotally important, investigation", Schiff said in an interview on ABC's "The View" today.

The National Security Agency (NSA) is expected to provide the documents to the committee on Friday-with more intelligence than Nunes received and described, Fox reported.

Maybe that's how he generates his feeling in the game and when he's able to produce his best work. We won and wins are all that matter at this stage of the season".

"We can't lose sight of the fact that it was our democracy -and not just one candidate or party - that was attacked by a hostile foreign power, " said Reed. The panel will postpone another public hearing on the investigation that was set for Tuesday. Schiff said that it's important to hold as numerous hearings as the can in public because "there is a lot the public can learn about this and should learn about this".

"The committee will seek additional information from the Monday hearing that can only be addressed in closed session", said Nunes. "We strongly object", he said, speaking for the Democratic minority.

"On the basis of what the chairman has said and on the basis of my conversation with the chairman, I can say this: There is still no evidence that the president was wiretapped by his predecessor", Schiff said. "It's hard for me to come to any other conclusion". This announcement was about as surprising as the news that sun will rise in the east tomorrow but is being greeted by some as a stunning indictment of Nunes.

On Friday, Nunes walked further away from Trump's position. A senior Republican committee staffer confirmed that account and said that Nunes pledged to work more with committee Democrats.

"I don't think that anyone should have any doubt about what is really going on here", Schiff said.
