Boeing rolls out 737 MAX 9, talks up MAX 10X

In a standard two-class configuration, the MAX 9 can accommodate 178 passengers vs. the MAX 8's 162, and both have the same 3,515NM range.

After its unveiling ceremony, the plane begins system checks, fueling and engine runs on the flight line.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded the Boeing 737 MAX 8 a Type Certificate, allowing the first-developed and first-certified 737 MAX version to enter commercial service.

Boeing said Thursday it received FAA type certification for the narrowbody passenger jet after a more than year-long flight test process involving four Max 8 airplanes as well as ground and laboratory testing.

Boeing rolled out its latest airplane - the 737 MAX 9 - Tuesday morning at its Renton facility.

During that time, the department said it will collect applicable information on the possible effects of rule, including public comments.

As well as 16 more seats than the incredibly popular 737 MAX 8, it offers lower trips costs than the competition, the lowest trip costs, which minimizes the risk airlines take on as they grow.

The 737 MAX 8 reduces fuel use and Carbon dioxide emissions by an additional 14 percent over today's most fuel-efficient single-aisle airplanes.

Boeing is now in the final stages of preparing for the first 737 MAX 8 delivery to customers in the coming months. Former VP Marketing Randy Tinseth confirmed on his blog that the company is actively engaged in discussions with customers about the 737 MAX 10X and has already extended business offers to some of those customers.

Boeing will later produce a smaller MAX 7 and then the MAX 200, a high-density version of the MAX 8 that has an extra exit door and is created to seat 200 passengers in one class.

Boeing says its 737 Max series is its fastest-selling aircraft, with more than 3,600 orders from 83 customers so far.
