MWC 2017 began just a few days ago and companies didn't wait to unveil their latest phones.
I have trawled through the hype and pulled out what I believe to be the most significant components of MWC for 2017.
The reprise of the Nokia brand was one of the highlights at Mobile World Congress this year as HMD launched four Nokia-branded devices - a feature phone and three smartphones.
Not only was the Nokia 3310 debuted at the Mobile World Congress, but HMD Global also debuted several other Nokia-branded Android smartphones, according to BBC. Everyone seems to agree that the classic game Snake, which is already loaded on the phone, is the best part of the rebooted phone. The two companies had been long written off, and they've ended up having some of the most attention grabbing moments at one of the biggest stages in the world, so it sounds like a reasonable conclusion to reach.
When it comes to specs, the Nokia 6 isn't mind-blowing, but it does offer enough. Additionally, the smartphone ships with a premium metallic design, dual-camera setup and a large 5.7 inch panel.
LG G6 is a waterproof smartphone with an IP68 certification, you can take it for swimming or shoot videos during a light surfing. Coupled with a smart design and two 13MP rear cameras, the G6 was the techie's choice of smartphone from this year's MWC, giving LG a much-needed victor after the failure of last year's G5.
Recession: Economy Shows Signs Of Recovery - NBS
Australia's terms of trade, a measure of the relative value of exports and imports, improved 9.1 per cent in the fourth quarter. A repeat of the third quarter GDP contraction would have sunk Australia into its first recession in 25 years.
The smartphone is the South Korean tech giant's first to be IP68 water- and dust-proof.
Apparently, all major carriers in the USA will be carrying the LG G6 in the country, but none of them has so far confirmed the exact price as well as expected availability. The device may house 2 GB of RAM. We are talking about its long lasting battery. It has a 13MP primary camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner and expandable storage.
The race to add "depth" to cameras might also be shaping up as a new thing.
While the P10 gets a 5.1-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display at 432ppi, the P10 Plus boasts a 5.5-inch display at 540ppi and a 2K screen resolution (2560 x 1440).
Despite growing excitement around the LG G6, Huawei P10, Sony Xperia XZ Premium and even the Samsung Galaxy S8 (which didn't launch, but got an official date), the search figures for the 3310 absolutely obliterated the competition.
The P10 and P10 Plus are both great devices with impressive specifications and fantastic cameras but if you were looking for something new, you are in for some disappointment. The super-slow motion function on this model takes the frame rate up to 960 fps.
The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU and is backed by a 3230mAh battery unit. It supports a microSD external storage of up to 2 TB.
