Google's Nexus 6 is Now Getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Nevertheless, those who can not wait for the official OTA rollout of Android 7.1.1 may go ahead and download the full-system image and OTA files manually, using the links from Google's Android developer portal.
There are many people who would like to know just how many units of the Nexus 6P have been sold compared to other brands, so come on Google tell us. All Google devices including Nexus and Pixel will get the January security patch with all fixes.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat might not the last update the Nexus 6 receives this year, but we doubt the smartphone will be getting another major OS update since it's older than two year.

One month ago Google's Product Forum was filled with users which were complaining that once Android 7.1.1 Nougat is installed, the device starts randomly shutting down even though there might be around 50 percent of battery life. This includes new and updated emoji characters, the image keyboard, rounded icons, and app shortcuts. The update is now being pushed to all Nexus 6 device all over the world in a staged manner.
In addition, the official over-the-air update is also rolling out to Nexus 6 users, but there's no telling when you can expect the update. While many of Google's devices received Android 7.0 Nougat back in August, it wasn't until October that the update was made available for the Nexus 6.
